In short: Addigy Apple MDM is the core tier of Addigy's cloud Apple device management platform. It covers zero-touch enrolment, configuration policies, app deployment, enforced OS updates, inventory and live remote support for Macs, iPhones, iPads and Apple TVs. It is licensed per device and billed monthly through Forever Systems.
What Addigy Apple MDM is
Addigy Apple MDM is the core tier of the Addigy platform. It uses Apple's own management framework to configure and control devices, and adds a lightweight Addigy agent on Macs for things the MDM protocol alone cannot do.
The agent is what sets Addigy apart from basic MDM tools. It reports device health continuously, so the console shows what is happening now rather than at the last check-in, and it gives technicians remote access and a live terminal without a separate remote support product. Monitors can raise alerts on device conditions such as low disk space or encryption being turned off.
Everything is run from a web console. Policies are set once and inherited by groups of devices, with overrides where one team needs something different. Users get a Self Service portal where they can install approved apps themselves.
What each tier includes
The tiers are cumulative, so Security Suite includes everything in Intelligence Suite and Apple MDM.
| Capability | Apple MDM | Intelligence Suite | Security Suite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zero-touch and manual enrolment | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Configuration policies and inheritance | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| App deployment, prebuilt apps and Self Service | Yes | Yes | Yes |

How Addigy Apple MDM is licensed
Licensing is per enrolled device, billed monthly:
| Option | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Mac licence | One Mac, including the Addigy agent and live tools |
| iOS-family licence | One iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, licensed separately from Macs |
| Minimum commitment | Applies to Addigy subscriptions through us; we confirm the level before you order |
| Trial | A free trial of the full platform before you buy |
There is no per-user charge, so shared iPads and lab Macs are licensed the same way as personal devices. Licence counts can rise as you buy devices, and fall when hardware is retired. Prices depend on tier, device mix and quantity, so ask us for a quote. See monthly vs annual licences for how commitments work in general.
Requirements and deployment
Addigy is fully cloud-hosted, so there is no server to install. What you need:
- An Apple Push Notification service (APNs) certificate, created with an Apple Account your organisation controls, which lets Addigy talk to your devices
- Apple Business Manager (or Apple School Manager for schools) for zero-touch enrolment and app licence distribution; both are free from Apple
- Current Apple operating systems, so that devices can take Apple's latest update and management controls
- An identity provider if you want single sign-on, such as Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Google Workspace
Devices bought through an Apple Business Manager reseller enrol automatically when first switched on. Existing Macs can be enrolled manually, and Addigy documents an agent-led process for moving Macs over from another MDM. Apple's 2025 operating systems (macOS, iOS and iPadOS 26) also let devices in Apple Business Manager move between MDM services without being wiped. Existing iPhones and iPads not bought through Apple Business Manager can be added with Apple Configurator, but that process erases the device, so we schedule it with users.
Who it suits and how we help
Addigy Apple MDM suits organisations of any size that want their Apple devices enrolled, encrypted, patched and supportable without hiring an Apple specialist. Schools use it for iPads and Mac suites; businesses use it for staff MacBooks and company iPhones.
Forever Systems sets up the APNs certificate, Apple Business Manager link and your security baseline, pilots policies on a few devices, then enrols the rest. We can run the platform for you or hand your IT team scoped access. If you also need Windows or Android management, see our guide to mobile security and device management.

Contact usFrequently asked questions
Does Addigy work with Apple Business Manager?
Yes. Linking Apple Business Manager lets new devices enrol automatically on first start-up and lets you distribute volume-purchased apps.
Can Addigy remotely control a Mac?
Yes. The Addigy agent provides live remote access and a terminal, so support staff can help users without a separate remote access tool.
Is Addigy suitable for schools?
Yes. Addigy works with Apple School Manager for zero-touch enrolment of school-owned iPads and Macs, and devices are licensed per device in the same way as for businesses. Ask us about licensing for education.
Does Addigy Apple MDM include antivirus?
Not on the Apple MDM tier. Security Suite adds SentinelOne EDR with 24/7 security operations monitoring and response, or you can pair Addigy with your existing endpoint protection.
