In short: CyberFOX is a software company focused on privileged access and identity security for lean IT teams. Its main product, AutoElevate, removes local administrator rights from Windows devices while letting approved tasks run elevated, through rules or a mobile app. Forever Systems supplies AutoElevate Standard and Advanced, billed per endpoint, and can handle the approvals for you.
What CyberFOX does
CyberFOX builds security tools for IT teams that run lean, whether that is a small in-house team or an IT provider looking after many organisations. Its products focus on the accounts and privileges attackers rely on once they get a foothold.
CyberFOX's platforms include:
- AutoElevate: privileged access management that removes standing local admin rights and elevates approved tasks on demand
- CyberFOX Password Manager: business password management
- Timus SASE: zero trust network access and an adaptive cloud firewall, presented by CyberFOX as one of its platforms; see Timus Networks
- Optimize365: Microsoft 365 security management, a business CyberFOX has acquired
- CyberFOX DNS Filtering: DNS-based web filtering
On this site we cover AutoElevate, the product most of our customers ask about. Ask us about the others.
The CyberFOX products we supply
| Product | What it does | Licensed by |
|---|---|---|
| AutoElevate Standard | Removes local admin rights, with rule-based and mobile app approval of elevation requests, technician mode, and automatic tickets and PSA time entries | Endpoint |
| AutoElevate Advanced | Adds just-in-time admin login, Entra ID single sign-on to the admin portal, granular per-device settings, Windows Event Log output, biometric approval and Blocker for living-off-the-land attacks | Endpoint |
Both editions use the same agent and admin portal, so the choice comes down to which controls you need. The AutoElevate page compares them feature by feature. For other approaches to identity security see identity, MFA and privileged access.
How CyberFOX AutoElevate is licensed
CyberFOX bases AutoElevate billing on the endpoints it manages: the agents installed and registered on your devices. CyberFOX states that technicians are not charged, so you can add as many approvers as you need.
- Editions: Standard or Advanced, chosen for your organisation
- Billing: monthly, through your Forever Systems account alongside your other subscriptions
- Commitment: a minimum commitment applies; we confirm the term and minimum before you order
As devices are added or retired, the agent count changes and so does the charge. Prices depend on the edition and number of devices, so ask us for a quote.
Buying CyberFOX through Forever Systems
- Audit: we find out who has local admin rights today and which applications genuinely need elevation.
- Audit mode: the AutoElevate agent installs in audit mode by default, recording elevation requests so rules can be written before rights are removed.
- Remove admin rights: local admin is taken away and approved tasks run through rules or on-demand approval.
- Run: our technicians, your IT team, or both, approve requests from the AutoElevate mobile app, and every decision is logged.
You get one invoice, a named team who understand the product, and help with the cultural side of removing admin rights.
Who CyberFOX suits
AutoElevate suits organisations that know staff should not be local administrators but have not removed the rights because of the support burden that follows. CyberFOX highlights sectors such as education, financial services, manufacturing, construction and local government, where users run specialist software that occasionally needs elevation. It also helps with the user access control requirements in Cyber Essentials and with cyber insurance questions about privileged access.
If you are not sure whether removing admin rights will disrupt your team, a short audit-mode trial on a handful of devices shows which requests your users make before anything changes.
