In short: Keepit is a SaaS backup and recovery platform that keeps immutable copies of your cloud application data in Keepit's own data centres, separate from Microsoft, Google or Salesforce. Each application is licensed per seat in Core Continuity, Business Resilience or Enterprise Resilience tiers, with unlimited storage and a UK data region.
What Keepit does
Keepit is a Danish company, headquartered in Copenhagen, that concentrates on one job: backup and recovery for software-as-a-service applications. The reasoning is straightforward. Microsoft, Google and Salesforce keep their services running, but getting back data that your own users delete, overwrite or lose to ransomware is your responsibility, and the built-in recycle bins and retention settings are short-lived. A separate copy, held somewhere else, is the safeguard.
Keepit holds that copy in its own vendor-independent data centres rather than in a hyperscale public cloud. Backups are immutable, so an attacker who gets into your tenant cannot alter or delete them, and storage is unlimited, so you never have to decide which mailboxes or sites to leave out. Everything is run from one web console, with search across every connected application and restores to the original location, to another user, or as a download.
Keepit opened a UK headquarters in the City of London in 2024 and runs a UK data centre region, which matters if UK GDPR or customer contracts require data to stay in the UK.

How Keepit is licensed
Keepit measures consumption in seats. You license the number of seats in each application you protect, and the price per seat falls as the number of protected seats rises. How a seat is counted depends on the application: for Microsoft 365 it is licensed users and items selected for backup, for Salesforce it is users with active licences, and so on. Each product page below explains the counting rule for that service.
Every plan includes unlimited hot storage with no ingress, egress or transaction fees, and data belonging to people who have left stays protected at no extra cost. Each service is sold in one of three tiers:

Keepit discounts bundles of two or more of its SaaS services, so protecting Microsoft 365 and Entra ID together usually works out better than buying them separately. Keepit also considers special options for education and non-profit organisations. We confirm the term, billing frequency and any seat minimums in your quote.
Where your data is stored
Keepit stores data in seven data centre regions: Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia. Your backups stay in the region you choose. Keepit keeps four copies of your data across two separate data centres within that region.
Keepit holds ISO 27001 certification and in June 2026 announced that it had completed a SOC 2 Type II audit. Retention can be set per connector, up to the limit of your tier, and all backups are held in hot storage, so there is no rehydration wait before a restore.
