In short: Dropsuite is cloud-to-cloud backup and email archiving for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. NinjaOne acquired Dropsuite in 2025 and now sells it as NinjaOne SaaS Backup. It is licensed per user in four bundles: Standard, + Entra, + Archiver, and + Archiver + Entra, on monthly or annual terms.
What Dropsuite does
Dropsuite backs up the data your organisation keeps in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace and stores the copy in its own cloud, away from your tenant. Microsoft and Google keep their services running, but getting back mail, files and chats that users delete, overwrite or lose to ransomware is your job, and the built-in recycle bins only hold deleted items for a limited time.
NinjaOne, the IT management software company, completed its acquisition of Dropsuite in June 2025. The Dropsuite website has since been retired and the technology continues as NinjaOne SaaS Backup, with the licences we supply still labelled "Powered by Dropsuite". NinjaOne says existing backups, data, retention policies and security controls are unaffected and no action is needed to keep them running. Existing Dropsuite customers can carry on logging in as before, or optionally connect their Dropsuite environment to the NinjaOne console, where SaaS backup sits alongside NinjaOne's endpoint management and endpoint backup.
The Dropsuite product line-up
Everything is licensed per user, and you choose the bundle that matches what you need to protect.
| Bundle | What it adds | Product page |
|---|---|---|
| NinjaOne SaaS Backup Standard | Backup and restore for Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive including shared drives, Calendar and Contacts) | SaaS Backup |
| NinjaOne SaaS Backup + Entra | Standard backup, plus point-in-time backup of Microsoft Entra ID users, groups, roles and policies | Entra ID backup |
| NinjaOne SaaS Backup + Archiver | Standard backup, plus journaling-based email archiving with eDiscovery and legal hold | Email archiving |
| NinjaOne SaaS Backup + Archiver + Entra | All three: backup, archiving and Entra ID protection | Email archiving |
NinjaOne does not cap storage per organisation. Its fair use policy instead sets a storage allowance for each paid seat, pooled across your whole organisation, so for most organisations there is no need to leave mailboxes or sites out of the backup. If you also need NinjaOne's remote monitoring and management, endpoint management or endpoint backup, ask us and we will arrange a quote.
How Dropsuite is licensed
Dropsuite licences are counted per user. Each user you protect needs a licence for the bundle you choose, and that licence covers the user's mailbox, files and the other workloads in the bundle.
- Terms: each bundle is available on a monthly term or an annual term. Monthly suits organisations whose headcount changes. Annual gives you a fixed commitment for the year.
- Nonprofit pricing: eligible charities and non-profit organisations can take each of the four bundles at nonprofit rates, on a monthly term. We check eligibility before ordering.
- Leavers: NinjaOne says backups are preserved through offboarding and account changes. Before you remove a leaver's licence, we confirm with you how long their data will be kept under your retention settings and how it counts towards your storage allowance.
- Changing bundle: you can move to a bigger bundle later, for example adding archiving when an auditor asks for it, and we handle the licence change for you.
Prices depend on the bundle, the number of users and the term, so ask us for a quote and we will set out the options.
Security and data storage
Dropsuite's security material describes AES-256 encryption covering data in storage and in transit, and names GDPR, SOC 2, NIS2 and Cyber Essentials among the standards it supports. Backups are incremental, so after the first full copy only changed items are sent, and you can run on-demand backups on top of the automatic schedule. Access is controlled with multi-factor authentication and role-based permissions.
Dropsuite offers a choice of data centre locations so that customers can meet data sovereignty requirements, and the United Kingdom is one of them, alongside Ireland, Germany and several countries outside Europe. If UK GDPR or a customer contract means your backup must be held in the UK, tell us before we set up your account and we will select the right region.

Contact usFrequently asked questions
Is Dropsuite the same as NinjaOne SaaS Backup?
Yes. NinjaOne acquired Dropsuite in 2025, and the service is now sold as NinjaOne SaaS Backup, Powered by Dropsuite. NinjaOne says existing backups, data and retention settings are unaffected.
What does Dropsuite back up?
Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive including shared drives, Calendar and Contacts). Microsoft Entra ID protection and email archiving are available in the larger bundles.
How is Dropsuite licensed?
Per user, on monthly or annual terms, in four bundles: Standard, + Entra, + Archiver, and + Archiver + Entra. There is no per-organisation storage cap (a fair use allowance per seat applies), and eligible non-profits can get nonprofit pricing on monthly terms.
How much does Dropsuite cost?
It depends on the bundle, the number of users and the term. Ask us for a quote and we will price the options side by side.
Can Dropsuite store my backups in the UK?
Yes. Dropsuite lists the United Kingdom among its data centre locations. Tell us if your backups must stay in the UK and we will choose that region when we set up your account.
Do you sell the Microsoft 365 licences too?
Not on this site. Dropsuite protects Microsoft 365, but the Microsoft subscriptions themselves are handled by Forever Group's Microsoft licensing team.
