Domotz licensing and supply

Domotz is cloud network monitoring and management software. It discovers everything on your network, maps it, alerts you when something goes wrong and lets you fix it remotely. We supply it on your Forever Systems account and help you set it up.

In short: Domotz is cloud network monitoring and management software. A collector at each site discovers and maps every connected device, monitors the ones that matter and alerts you to problems, with remote access, power cycling and configuration backup included. Forever Systems licenses it per managed device, on an annual commitment billed monthly.

What Domotz does

Domotz's product is a cloud-hosted network monitoring and management platform. It is aimed at anyone responsible for keeping a network running, from a one-person IT department looking after a single office to an in-house team supporting dozens of branches, warehouses or school sites.

The design is simple. A small piece of software called a collector runs at each site, either on hardware you already have or on a dedicated Domotz box. It scans the local network, identifies what is connected and reports to the Domotz cloud. You then see every site in one web console or the Domotz mobile apps.

In outline, that gives you discovery and inventory of every device, live topology maps, monitoring and alerts, remote access and power cycling, configuration backup and basic network security checks. The full feature list, deployment options and requirements are on our Domotz network monitoring page; this page covers licensing, supply and fit.

How Domotz is licensed

Domotz has no feature tiers: every capability is included in the subscription. What varies is how you count what you are monitoring.

How it works through Forever Systems
Licence unitManaged devices: the devices you choose to monitor and manage
DiscoveryDiscovery and inventory of everything on the network is included
TermAnnual commitment, billed monthly
CollectorsOne per site or network, as many as you need
TrialDomotz offers a free trial, so you can see your own network before you commit

Domotz's own published plans are counted per collector (per site) rather than per device. If counting by site would suit your estate better than counting devices, tell us and we will check the options for your order. Prices depend on quantity and term, so ask us for a quote.

For more on how commitments work, see monthly vs annual licences.

Buying Domotz through Forever Systems

We supply Domotz to organisations that run their own networks and want proper visibility without a heavyweight monitoring system.

  1. We scope it: list your sites, the network equipment at each one and which devices matter enough to monitor actively.
  2. We deploy the collectors: on a Windows or Linux machine, a NAS, a virtual machine, a Raspberry Pi or a Domotz box, depending on what each site has.
  3. We tune the alerts: thresholds and routing so the right person hears about a failed switch or a UPS on battery, without alert fatigue.
  4. We manage the licences: one account, monthly billing, and device counts adjusted at renewal as your estate changes.

If you already work with us for firewalls and network security or device visibility, Domotz fits alongside those products.

Who Domotz suits

Domotz suits UK organisations whose IT team needs to know what is on the network and whether it is healthy, especially across more than one location:

  • Multi-site businesses: retail, hospitality, logistics and professional services firms with branches but no IT staff on site
  • Schools and multi-academy trusts: switches, wireless, printers, CCTV and AV equipment spread across buildings
  • Facilities with lots of connected kit: door access, cameras, displays and building systems that are often invisible to IT
  • Lean IT teams: who want discovery, alerts and remote fixes in one tool rather than several

Knowing every device on your network also supports Cyber Essentials, which expects you to know what is in scope, and gives you evidence of change for internal audits. Domotz states that it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications.
