DefensX licensing and browser security

DefensX adds phishing, credential, data leak and AI controls to the browsers your staff already use. We supply the editions, deploy them and manage the licences on one account.

In short: DefensX is a browser security platform that protects staff inside the browsers they already use, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, with DNS protection, phishing and credential defence, data leak and AI controls, and zero trust access. Editions run from Core to Premium+, licensed per user, and Forever Systems supplies them in the UK.

What DefensX does

DefensX is a security platform that works inside the web browser. Most work now happens in a browser tab: email, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, line-of-business SaaS and, increasingly, AI tools. DefensX applies its controls at that point rather than relying only on a firewall or an endpoint agent to spot problems after the fact.

DefensX was previously known as Isoolate, and some licence names still carry the old name, for example "DefensX Core (Formerly Isoolate Core)". If you see Isoolate on an older invoice or renewal, it is the same product line.

Across its editions, DefensX covers:

  • DNS protection that blocks malicious and unwanted domains, designed by DefensX to keep working alongside VPNs
  • Phishing and credential protection, using AI visual analysis of web pages and zero trust controls on where corporate passwords can be entered
  • Browser data leak protection, controlling what data can leave the business through the browser
  • AI governance, covering AI prompt protection, shadow AI protection and, in the higher editions, logging of prompts sent to large language models
  • Remote browser isolation for risky sites, so web content is rendered away from the device
  • Zero trust access to web and on-premises applications from managed and unmanaged devices, positioned by DefensX as an alternative to VPN or VDI

DefensX works with the mainstream browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave and Vivaldi, so staff keep the browser they know.

DefensX products we supply

We supply two DefensX products:

ProductWhat it isLicensed by
DefensX browser securityThe core platform in four editions (Core, Core Plus, Premium and Premium+), plus a ZTNA add-onUser
DefensX Nexi AIAn AI agent that turns DefensX browser telemetry into answers and reports on productivity, AI adoption and riskUser

The four editions are cumulative: each includes everything in the one below it. In broad terms, Core is about phishing, DNS and password protection; Core Plus adds data leak and AI controls; Premium adds human risk reporting, training and remote browser isolation; and Premium+ adds application control, BYOD access and ZTNA. The editions comparison lists every feature side by side, with guidance on which to choose.

How DefensX is licensed

DefensX is licensed per user. Each licence covers a person, so the cost follows your headcount rather than the number of browsers or devices they use.

  • Mix editions: DefensX lets you mix and match tiers across users, for example Premium for directors and finance staff who handle payments and sensitive data, and Core or Core Plus for everyone else
  • No large commitment: DefensX states there is no minimum commitment and you can start with a single licence
  • ZTNA add-on: brings zero trust access to the users who need it without moving them to Premium+, which includes ZTNA access as standard
  • Nexi AI is a separate per-user licence, used alongside the browser security platform it runs on

Prices depend on the edition mix, the number of users and the term, so ask us for a quote. If you are new to user-based licensing, our guide to per-user vs per-device licensing explains the trade-offs.

Who DefensX suits

DefensX suits UK organisations that live in the browser and want protection that follows staff wherever they work, without routing all traffic through a gateway. Typical fits include:

  • Hybrid and remote teams, where a network-based web filter only protects people in the office
  • Firms worried about credential phishing and account takeover of Microsoft 365, banking and SaaS logins
  • Organisations adopting AI tools that need to see which AI services staff use and stop sensitive data being pasted into them
  • Businesses with contractors or BYOD, where Premium+ provides controlled access to company applications without issuing a VPN or virtual desktop

Cyber insurance questionnaires commonly ask about web filtering and phishing protection, and DefensX can help you evidence both; for what the scheme itself requires, see Cyber Essentials. For alternatives, compare products in secure enterprise browsers and DNS and web filtering.

Frequently asked questions

Is DefensX the same as Isoolate?

Yes. DefensX was previously known as Isoolate, and some licence names still show the old name, for example DefensX Core (Formerly Isoolate Core). Existing Isoolate subscriptions are the same product line under the DefensX name.

Is DefensX a separate browser?

No. DefensX adds its protection to the browsers your staff already use, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave and Vivaldi, so people keep their familiar browser and bookmarks.

Can different users have different DefensX editions?

Yes. DefensX lets you mix and match tiers across users, so you can give Premium or Premium+ to higher-risk roles and Core or Core Plus to everyone else, all on one account.

Is DefensX licensed per user or per device?

Per user. Each licence covers a person and the browsers they use. Nexi AI and the ZTNA add-on are also licensed per user.

How do I get a DefensX price?

Contact us with your user numbers and what you want to protect. We recommend an edition mix and send a quote, as DefensX pricing depends on edition, quantity and term.
