DefensX browser security: Core, Core Plus, Premium and Premium+

What each DefensX edition includes, how the ZTNA add-on works, how licences are counted and what deployment involves.

Contact us

In short: DefensX browser security protects users inside their existing browsers. Core covers DNS, phishing and password protection; Core Plus adds data leak and AI controls; Premium adds risk reporting, training and remote browser isolation; Premium+ adds application control, BYOD access and ZTNA. All editions are licensed per user and can be mixed.

What DefensX browser security is

DefensX browser security is the main DefensX platform: a set of controls that run inside the browsers your staff already use, managed from one cloud console. It is built around a simple idea: if phishing pages, credential theft, risky sites and data leaks mostly happen in a browser tab, the browser is the best place to stop them.

The platform works at three points:

  • Before a page loads: DNS protection blocks known malicious and unwanted domains
  • While the page is open: AI visual analysis looks for pages imitating a trusted brand, zero trust password protection controls where corporate credentials can be entered, and in Premium and above risky sites can be opened in remote browser isolation
  • When data leaves: browser data leak protection governs what can leave through the browser, and AI prompt and AI data leak protection stop sensitive data being pasted into AI tools

Each edition includes everything in the edition below it.

Core suits organisations that want phishing and credential protection everywhere. Core Plus is the step to take if staff use AI tools or handle data you need to keep in the business. Premium adds isolation and the reporting and training needed to manage human risk. Premium+ turns DefensX into a zero trust access layer and a VPN or VDI replacement. DefensX can change the feature split, so we confirm it when we quote.

ZTNA and VPN replacement

Premium+ and the ZTNA add-on let users reach company web applications and on-premises systems through the DefensX-protected browser instead of a traditional VPN or virtual desktop. Access works from managed and unmanaged devices under policy-based controls, with posture checks, data leak protection and continuous monitoring applied to each session.

This is particularly useful for contractors and staff on personal devices. DefensX includes keylogger protection, data leak controls and isolation to keep company data safe on a personal device without interfering with personal use of it. For a vendor-neutral explanation of the approach, see our page on ZTNA, and compare other options in SASE, ZTNA and business VPN.

How DefensX is licensed

ItemLicensed byNotes

ZTNA add-onUserAdds zero trust access for selected users; ZTNA access is already part of Premium+
Nexi AIUserSeparate licence, runs on the DefensX secure browser

DefensX states there is no minimum commitment and you can start with a single licence, which makes a small pilot straightforward. Licences are added or removed as staff join and leave, and you can move individual users up or down an edition. Prices depend on edition, quantity and term, so ask us for a quote. Our guide to monthly vs annual licences explains how term choices affect flexibility.

Deployment

DefensX is cloud-managed, so there is no server or appliance to install. Software is deployed to each user's device and applies protection to the browsers on it, and policies are set centrally in the DefensX console.

Every edition includes RMM and PSA support, so DefensX can be rolled out and managed through the tools your IT team or provider already uses, alongside your device management platform such as Microsoft Intune. DefensX also notes that you can stop using it by uninstalling the software.

We usually start with a pilot group, tune web category, password protection and data leak rules against real usage, then roll out to everyone. Users who need it can be moved to a higher edition at any point without reinstalling.

How we help

We scope the edition mix with you, set up the DefensX tenant, deploy it to your devices and configure policies for web categories, password protection, data leak rules and AI tools. After go-live we review the first reports, adjust policies and handle user changes and renewals on your Forever Systems invoice. Contact us to start with a pilot.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between DefensX Core and Core Plus?

Core covers advanced DNS protection, AI visual phishing detection and zero trust password protection. Core Plus adds browser data leak protection, AI prompt, AI data leak and shadow AI protection, and corporate time tracking.

Which DefensX edition includes remote browser isolation?

Premium and Premium+. Risky sites can be opened in an isolated session so web content is rendered away from the user's device. Core and Core Plus do not include it.

Does DefensX replace a VPN?

Premium+, or the ZTNA add-on, provides zero trust access to web and on-premises applications through the protected browser, which DefensX positions as a replacement for VPN and VDI. We check your applications before recommending it.

How long does DefensX keep logs?

DefensX lists 30-day log retention in Core and 90-day log retention in Premium. As the editions are cumulative, Core Plus has Core's 30 days and Premium+ has Premium's 90 days.

Can I trial DefensX?

Yes. DefensX offers trial subscriptions, and because there is no minimum commitment we can also start with a small pilot group. Contact us to set one up.
