In short: EasyDMARC Managed BIMI validates your logo, hosts it and your mark certificate, and maintains the BIMI record behind a single CNAME, then reports where the logo is displayed. BIMI needs DMARC at quarantine or reject and, for Gmail, a VMC or CMC certificate. Forever Systems supplies it per domain within the EasyDMARC platform.
What BIMI is
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) lets mailbox providers show your organisation's logo beside messages that pass DMARC. It is the visible reward for doing email authentication properly: recipients see a recognisable logo on genuine mail, which spoofed messages cannot copy because they fail DMARC.
Setting it up by hand means converting your logo to a strict SVG format, hosting it and the certificate on HTTPS, writing a BIMI DNS record and checking it works. EasyDMARC Managed BIMI takes those steps on: you upload the logo, publish one CNAME record, and EasyDMARC hosts and maintains the rest.
What you need before BIMI works
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| DMARC at enforcement | Policy of p=quarantine or p=reject on the domain and its sending subdomains, applied to all mail; p=none or a pct below 100 is not accepted |
| SVG Tiny P/S logo | A square logo in the SVG Tiny Portable/Secure profile; ordinary SVG exports usually need cleaning up |
| Mark certificate | Gmail requires a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or Common Mark Certificate (CMC); Yahoo and Fastmail can show a logo without one |
| Trademark (for a VMC) | A VMC is based on a registered trademark; a CMC has different eligibility rules for logos that are not trademarked |
The certificate is issued by an external certificate authority and bought separately. EasyDMARC helps you work out whether you need a VMC or a CMC and coordinates with the certificate authority, and we help you through the application. If your domains are not at enforcement yet, Managed DMARC is the first step.
What EasyDMARC manages
- Validating your logo against the SVG Tiny P/S requirements
- Hosting the logo and certificate at stable HTTPS addresses
- Generating and maintaining the BIMI record behind your CNAME
- Checking the live record and deployment status
- Pushing updated logos, certificates and records without a new DNS change
BIMI reporting then shows where your logo is being displayed: brand impressions over time, coverage across Gmail, Yahoo, Apple Mail and Fastmail, and a funnel showing where authenticated mail loses the logo, so you can see the effect of DNS, logo or certificate changes. Mailbox providers make the final decision on display, so a valid setup does not guarantee every recipient sees the logo.
How Managed BIMI is licensed
Managed BIMI is part of the EasyDMARC platform we supply, licensed per domain, with an agreed monthly email volume and billed monthly. The same licence covers EasySPF, Managed DKIM and MTA-STS, so there is no separate BIMI subscription to manage.
| Item | How it works |
|---|---|
| EasyDMARC platform | Per domain, monthly, includes Managed BIMI and BIMI reporting |
| VMC or CMC | Bought from a certificate authority on that authority's terms |
| Logo preparation | Conversion to SVG Tiny P/S if your designer cannot supply it |
Ask us for a quote covering the platform and, if you need one, the certificate.
Who it suits and how we help
Managed BIMI suits organisations whose customers receive a lot of email from them, such as retailers, membership bodies, schools sending to parents and firms sending invoices and statements, and anyone already at p=reject who wants a visible return on that work. We check your DMARC readiness, prepare or validate the logo, guide the certificate application and publish the record, then use BIMI reporting to confirm it is showing. Contact usFrequently asked questions
Do I need a trademark for BIMI?
For a Verified Mark Certificate, yes: it is based on a registered trademark. A Common Mark Certificate has different eligibility rules and can suit logos that are not trademarked. Gmail requires one or the other.
Which email clients show BIMI logos?
Support varies by provider, and each provider decides whether to display the logo. EasyDMARC's BIMI reporting covers Gmail, Yahoo, Apple Mail and Fastmail.
Can I use BIMI with a DMARC policy of none?
No. BIMI needs DMARC at quarantine or reject applied to all of your mail. We can get your domain to enforcement first with Managed DMARC.
Is the certificate included in the EasyDMARC licence?
No. The VMC or CMC is issued by a certificate authority and bought separately. We can include it in your quote.
