What Vade does
Vade, formerly known as Vade Secure, is a French email security company founded in 2009. It started out filtering email for internet service providers and telecoms companies before applying the same technology to businesses. Vade joined the Hornetsecurity group in 2024, and Hornetsecurity is now part of Proofpoint. Vade's products are still sold under the Vade name alongside the Hornetsecurity range.
For most UK organisations the relevant product is Vade for M365: a layer of AI-based detection that sits on top of Microsoft 365's own protection and catches the phishing, impersonation and malware that gets past it. Vade also makes Vade for Google Workspace; ask us if that is what you use.

How Vade is licensed
Everything Vade sells for Microsoft 365 is counted per user: the core Email Protection Service covers each Microsoft 365 user whose mailbox you protect, and either option is added for the same users if you need it. There are no separate editions of the core service to choose between, so the decisions are simply how many users and which options.

Yes. Vade Secure is the company's former name, and its website is still vadesecure.com. Vade joined the Hornetsecurity group in 2024, Hornetsecurity is now part of Proofpoint, and the products are still sold under the Vade name.
Does Vade for M365 need an MX record change?
No. Vade for M365 integrates with Microsoft 365 directly, so your MX records stay pointed at Microsoft and mail flow is not interrupted during set-up.
