Printix Cloud Print Management licensing

Retire your print servers and let staff print securely from any device to any printer, with every feature included and one per-user licence.

Contact us

In short: Printix Cloud Print Management is a serverless print service that installs printer queues and drivers automatically, releases jobs securely from a phone or the printer, and scans to email, OneDrive or SharePoint. It is licensed per active user with unlimited printers, on monthly or annual terms, with education, non-profit and Power PDF options.

What Printix Cloud Print Management is

Printing is often the last thing keeping a server in the comms cupboard. Printix Cloud Print Management replaces it. The Printix Client on each computer talks to the Printix Cloud, which tells it which printers to show and which drivers to install; the computer then processes the job itself and sends it directly to the printer on the local network. Because print data does not travel to a central server, there is no extra network load and no server to size or patch.

The client updates itself silently, new starters get the right printers automatically, and people who move between offices see local printers wherever they sign in.

What is included

Every Printix plan includes every feature, so there is no edition table to compare:

CapabilityWhat it gives you
Automatic queues and driversPrint-ready set-up for new and roaming users, with self-service printer choice
Secure print releaseHold jobs until the user releases them from the Printix App, a browser, or Printix Go at the printer with a card or ID code
Cloud printingPrint from home or a branch to a printer elsewhere, relayed securely through the Printix Cloud
Chromebook printingOptimised printing from Chromebooks and Chrome, useful in schools
Printix CaptureScan to email, OneDrive or SharePoint Online from supported multifunction printers, or capture pages with a phone camera in the Printix App, with OCR to searchable PDF or Word
ReportingPrint analytics, including a Power BI report
Virtual desktopsPrinting from Azure Virtual Desktop

Printix states that Capture is included in the subscription. Capture from the printer itself needs Printix Go on a supported device, and Printix currently lists HP, Konica Minolta and Ricoh for Capture.

How it is licensed

The licence is per user with unlimited printers, devices, pages and locations. A user counts in a month if they sign in to the Printix Client or administrator interface at least once, so people who never print do not cost anything.

OptionTerms
Printix Cloud Print Management, monthlyBilled after each month on active users
Printix Cloud Print Management, annualPrepaid for a nominated user count at the start of the subscription
EducationPriced on staff and faculty; students included once staff are licensed
Non-profitDiscounted for verified charities and non-profits
Power PDFPrintix combined with Tungsten Power PDF for creating, editing and converting PDFs

On annual terms, extra users above your nominated number are charged at the start of the next billing period, or you can top up the user count for the rest of the year; unused prepaid users do not carry over. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid month or year. Tenants with fewer than 15 users pay a minimum monthly service fee. We confirm which Power PDF edition comes with the bundle when we quote. Prices depend on the option and user numbers, so ask us for a quote.

Requirements and deployment

  • Clients: Windows (including Windows on Arm), macOS and Chromebook, plus the Printix App on iOS and Android; Linux computers can print through the Chrome browser
  • Printers: existing network printers; Printix says no new certified printers or connectors are required
  • Identity: Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Okta or OneLogin, with SCIM provisioning and group-based printer assignment
  • Deployment: Microsoft Intune or an MSI package
  • Security: print jobs and cloud communication encrypted with AES-256; pending documents can be kept in your own Azure Blob Storage or Google Cloud Storage
  • Printix Go: supported Epson, HP, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark, Ricoh and Xerox devices, working with many existing Elatec, HID and RFIDeas card readers (Printix does not sell readers or cards)

Printix offers a one-month trial with every feature and no card needed, which makes a pilot straightforward.

Who it suits and how we help

Printix suits organisations that have moved to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace and want to remove their last on-premises server, multi-site businesses tired of managing print drivers, and schools and academy trusts with Chromebooks and shared printers. Secure release also helps with UK GDPR, because confidential documents are not left sitting in output trays.

We check your printers against Printix Go support, plan the client roll-out through Microsoft Intune, configure secure release and Capture workflows, then decommission the old print server. Licences sit on your Forever Systems account alongside your other subscriptions. See also print management software and PDF software.

Anyone who signs in to the Printix Client or administrator interface at least once in the billing month. Users who never sign in are not counted.
