What Keepit for Google Workspace is
Google keeps Workspace running, but once something is emptied from the bin or removed by an administrator, getting it back depends on short retention windows. Keepit for Google Workspace keeps a separate, immutable copy in Keepit's own cloud, outside Google, so deleted mail and files can be found and restored long after Google has removed them.
It connects through Google's APIs once an administrator authorises it, and backups run twice a day. There is nothing to install on your devices and storage is unlimited.

How it is licensed
Keepit for Google Workspace is licensed per seat, and the seat type follows the Google Workspace licence:

For Gmail and Drive, the users you select for backup are counted. If you add Google Sites, every user in the tenant is counted for that service. Storage is unlimited, with no fees for restores or data transfer, and data from people who leave stays protected at no extra cost.
Retention follows the tier: up to 5 years on Core Continuity, up to 10 years on Business Resilience or Enterprise Resilience, and unlimited retention as an add-on to those two. The Keepit overview compares support and onboarding across the tiers.
