In short: Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN, sells several business products. We supply three: NordLayer for business VPN and zero trust network access, NordPass for team password management and NordStellar (now marketed as NordLayer Intelligence) for dark web and attack surface monitoring. NordLayer and NordPass are licensed per user; NordStellar is sized by monitored domains and assets.
What Nord Security does
Nord Security is best known for NordVPN, its consumer VPN. Its business range tackles the problems IT teams deal with every day: getting remote and hybrid staff onto company resources safely, keeping shared logins under control, and finding out when company credentials or systems are exposed on the internet before an attacker uses them.
The three products we supply are cloud services managed from web consoles, with no hardware to install. Nord Security presents them as a modular set, so you can start with one and add another later without changing supplier. NordLayer, NordPass and NordStellar can each be bought on their own, and they also work together: for example, NordPass can restrict vault access to your NordLayer-secured network, and NordStellar adds monitoring of leaked credentials and lookalike domains across the whole organisation. Nord Security's wider business range also includes a secure enterprise browser, encrypted cloud storage and a business eSIM service; ask us if you are interested in those.
The Nord Security products we supply
| Product | What it covers | Licensed by |
|---|---|---|
| NordLayer | Business VPN, zero trust network access, cloud firewall, DNS filtering and threat protection for remote and office users | User, from five users |
| NordPass | Encrypted business password manager with sharing, password policies, Password Health and breach alerts | User |
| NordStellar | Threat exposure management: dark web and data breach monitoring, attack surface management and lookalike domain detection | Monitored domains and assets |
Nord Security now markets NordStellar as NordLayer Intelligence by NordStellar, and the nordstellar.com website redirects to the NordLayer Intelligence pages. If you see either name on a renewal or a proposal, it is the same threat exposure platform.
How Nord Security products are licensed
Each product has its own licensing model, so it pays to check them separately before you budget:
- NordLayer is licensed per user on the Lite, Core or Premium plan, with a five-user minimum. Each user licence covers up to six devices. Dedicated servers, which give you a fixed IP address and a private gateway, are licensed separately from user seats.
- NordPass is licensed per user on the Business or Enterprise plan. Everyone with a vault needs a licence.
- NordStellar is not counted by people at all. It is sized by how many domains and assets you want monitored, and the console has unlimited users so your whole security team can work in it.
Through Forever Systems we confirm the terms available for each product on your quote, and you can add users part way through a term. Prices depend on the plan, quantity and term, so ask us for a quote. For background on how these models compare, read per-user vs per-device licensing and monthly vs annual licences.
Buying Nord Security through Forever Systems
Buying through us puts your Nord Security subscriptions on the same account and invoice as the rest of your software, instead of a separate card payment for each product.
- Scope it: we look at how many people need remote access or a vault, which identity provider you use, and how many domains you own, so you start on the right plan.
- Quote it: you receive a quote for the plans, dedicated servers or monitoring scope you actually need, set out line by line.
- Deploy it: we can connect NordLayer to Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, OneLogin, JumpCloud or Google Workspace, set gateway and password policies, and roll out the apps to staff.
- Run it: joiners, leavers, plan upgrades and renewals are handled by our UK team, and we remind you before anything lapses.

Who Nord Security suits
NordLayer suits small and mid-sized organisations that want a business VPN or a step towards zero trust network access without buying firewall hardware, including firms with staff working from home, contractors who need access to a few internal systems, or a need for a fixed IP address to allowlist on cloud services. NordPass suits teams that share logins and want them out of spreadsheets and browsers, with policies and an audit trail. NordStellar suits organisations that want early warning of leaked staff credentials, infostealer infections and impersonation domains, including groups that want to monitor several brands or subsidiaries from one multi-tenant console.

Contact usFrequently asked questions
Are Nord Security business products licensed per user or per device?
NordLayer and NordPass are licensed per user. NordLayer has a five-user minimum on its Lite, Core and Premium plans, and each NordLayer user licence covers up to six devices. NordStellar is sized by the number of domains and assets you monitor rather than by users.
Is NordLayer the same as NordVPN?
No. NordVPN is Nord Security's consumer VPN. NordLayer is its business product, with a central admin console, private gateways, dedicated IP addresses, identity provider sign-in, access controls and threat protection managed by IT.
Can we buy NordLayer and NordPass together?
Yes. They are separate subscriptions, but we can supply both on one account and one invoice, and set them up so NordPass vault access is limited to your NordLayer network if you want that control.
Is NordStellar now called NordLayer Intelligence?
Nord Security now markets the product as NordLayer Intelligence by NordStellar, and nordstellar.com redirects to the NordLayer Intelligence site. It is the same threat exposure platform, so the name change does not mean you need a different product.
Do you supply Microsoft licences on this site?
No. NordLayer integrates with Microsoft Entra ID, but Microsoft licensing is handled by Forever Group: see Microsoft licensing.
