What Trend Micro does
Trend Micro is a cyber security company headquartered in Japan that has made business security software for decades. It now markets its enterprise security business and products under the TrendAI brand, so the platform once called Trend Micro Vision One and then Trend Vision One appears as TrendAI Vision One, and its credit licence is now called TrendAI Flex. The company behind the brand is still Trend Micro Incorporated.
TrendAI Vision One is a single console for protecting endpoints, servers, email, cloud workloads, networks and identities, with extended detection and response (XDR), Agentic SIEM, exposure management and threat intelligence on top. For smaller organisations, Trend Micro also sells the Worry-Free range, a simpler cloud-managed suite licensed per user. Worry-Free customers can update their console to Vision One and keep using their existing Worry-Free applications.

How Trend Micro licensing works
Trend Micro uses two licensing models, depending on the product family.
- TrendAI Flex is how Trend Micro licenses Vision One. Since January 2026 it has been the only Vision One licence Trend Micro sells, and older Vision One licences were converted to it automatically. Each solution has a credit rate per unit, such as per endpoint, per user, per gigabyte or per band of cloud resources, and usage is measured and drawn down monthly. There are no separate product licence keys: you switch solutions on and off in the console.
- Per-user subscriptions pay for Worry-Free. You choose an edition and a user count, and the licence covers that person's protected devices and, on the email editions, their mailbox.
Through Forever Systems, Trend Micro is billed monthly in arrears for what you actually used in the month, measured the way Trend Micro measures it, rather than as a credit pool you pay for up front. That suits estates that change size during the year, because adding a solution, a user or a server simply shows up on the next bill. Costs depend on the solutions, tiers and quantities you use, so ask us for a quote.
Recent Trend Micro name changes
Trend Micro has renamed its enterprise products more than once in recent years, so older renewal notices may not match today's names.
