In short: Google Workspace Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus remove the 300-user cap and add data loss prevention, context-aware access, the security investigation tool, Cloud Identity Premium and live streaming. Enterprise Plus adds client-side encryption, advanced data regions, Access Transparency and Meet for 1,000. Both are licensed per user, monthly or annually.
What the Enterprise editions add
The Enterprise editions include everything in Business Plus, remove the 300-user cap and add Google's enterprise security and data protection tooling.
- Data loss prevention (DLP) for Gmail, Drive and Chat: detect and block sharing of card numbers, National Insurance numbers or your own sensitive patterns
- Context-aware access: allow or block access to Workspace apps based on user, device security status, location and IP address
- Security investigation tool, dashboards and alert centre: find and act on suspicious sign-ins, phishing and risky sharing
- Cloud Identity Premium included, with no separate licence
- Storage: 5TB per user, pooled, with more available on request
- Live streaming to viewers in your own or trusted domains
- Gemini with enterprise data protections across Workspace apps

Client-side encryption means content is encrypted in the browser with keys you hold through a key service you choose, so Google cannot read it. That matters to organisations handling government, defence, legal or health data. Access Transparency logs when Google staff access your content and why.
How Enterprise is licensed
Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus are licensed per user with no upper limit on users. Google offers the Flexible Plan (monthly) and the Annual/Fixed-Term Plan (a one-year or longer commitment at a lower per-user cost, where licences can only be reduced at renewal).
Enterprise editions can sit alongside Frontline licences for deskless staff, and leavers can be moved to Enterprise Standard or Enterprise Plus Archived User licences, which keep their data under your Vault rules, Drive DLP and data region settings. Ask us for a quote.
Who Enterprise suits
Enterprise Standard suits organisations above 300 users, or smaller ones that need DLP and context-aware access to meet contractual or regulatory requirements. Enterprise Plus suits regulated sectors where data residency, encryption key control and visibility of provider access are on the risk register.
If your organisation wants Google's collaboration tools but intends to keep its existing email, look at Enterprise Essentials instead, which leaves out Gmail.
How we help
We scope Enterprise deployments with you: user counts by edition, which security features you will actually configure, whether client-side encryption and data regions are needed, and how Frontline licences fit. We then supply the subscription on your Forever Systems account and help configure DLP rules, context-aware access levels and security alerts.
Enterprise data still needs independent protection: see Google Workspace backup. Contact us for a quote.

Contact usFrequently asked questions
What is the difference between Google Workspace Business and Enterprise?
Business editions are capped at 300 users. Enterprise editions have no cap and add data loss prevention, context-aware access, security investigation tools, Cloud Identity Premium and live streaming, with client-side encryption and advanced data regions in Enterprise Plus.
Can we keep our data in Europe with Google Workspace?
Data regions let you choose where certain data is stored at rest. Business Standard, Business Plus and Enterprise Standard support a single region policy; Enterprise Plus adds per-group policies and data processing controls.
What is client-side encryption in Google Workspace?
It encrypts Drive files, Gmail, Meet and Calendar content in the browser using keys you control through an external key service, so Google cannot decrypt it. It is included in Enterprise Plus.
Does Google Workspace Enterprise include Cloud Identity Premium?
Yes. Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus include Cloud Identity Premium, so users on those editions do not need a separate Cloud Identity Premium licence for identity, single sign-on and device management features.
